Mac's Pharmacy and Charlotte's Web Hallmark Celebrating Grand Re-Opening

Powell/Claxton, Tn., October 17, 2009 - Mac's Pharmacy and Charlotte's Web Hallmark are Celebrating their Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, October 17th. There will be a ribbon cutting, prizes, food, and music, as well as a one-day only special Precious Moments event benefitting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Grand Re-Opening is to celebrate Edgemoor Pharmacy becoming Mac's Pharmacy and to invite the community to meet the new family ownership and see the remodeled pharmacy.

Completion of Pharmacy Remodel

Today we have completed the remodel of Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy and it looks amazing. Special thanks to all of the people that have contributed to this process as it has taken many late nights from many people to look this good. The store now has a much brighter and open atmosphere and we think people will really enjoy the new look. Barbara Wilhoit worked many late nights to get the entrance looking fantastic and it shows! Thanks to Barbara we now offer a fine selection of affordable jewelry.

Free Prescription Delivery

Mac's Pharmacy in North Knoxville has always provided free prescription delivery for North Knoxville. Now we are proud to announce Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy will be providing free prescription delivery to the Claxton community. We are currently offering this service Mon. - Fri. from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy. Mac's Pharmacy in North Knoxville will continue providing free delivery during all business hours.

Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy has added several TN products to the store. We are now proud to provide Willa's Shortbread and Tennessee's Best products. Here is some background on the tradition of Willa's Shortbread:

Reared in a small town in Georgia, Willa Allen always treasured
her mother’s traditional shortbread and cheese straw recipes.
While the shortbread was originally made in a cake pan and cut
into wedges, Willa adapted the same ingredients to create

The beginning of Edgemoor remodel

Today we have begun the process of remodeling the pharmacy department and entrance of Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy. We are doing this to allow the addition of more great products to the store. We are hoping to add more value to the products that we offer as well as provide a wider selection to choose from. Please "pardon our dust" as we strive to make a more open and inviting atmosphere to the store.

We have a Hallmark store!

Today Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy officially takes over Charlotte's Web Hallmark store. We will continue to provide collectors access to the collectables they love. Over the years Charlott's Web has become known as the place to shop for wedding invitations, Precious Moments, Jim Shore, Chirstmas ornaments and Hallmark cards. Today we will also start the process of adding more great collectables and gifts for an even better selection.

Mac's Pharmacy announces specialty medication packaging

Today Mac's Pharmacy announces specialty medication packaging for the two pharmacy locations. We will be providing Medicine-On-Time to walk in patients or for delivery. Medicine-On-Time is an innovative personal prescription system that takes the daily hassle out of taking medicine. The system eliminates the juggling of pill bottles and the guess work of dosages and times. Medicine-On-Time makes taking medication so easy you may not miss a dose of medication again, and that is why we are very excited and proud to offer this service to our patients.

Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy

Today Edgemoor Pharmacy officially becomes Mac's Edgemoor Pharmacy and Mike Wilhoit will be taking over as Pharmacist in Charge. The Hughes will continue to run Charlotte's Web Hallmark store for the next three months to ease the transition into new ownership for the patients and to help with any problems that might arise from a change in ownership. It will take a little while for the patients to get used to the Hughes not running the store. The Hughes have done a wonderful job of serving the people of Claxton with exceptional pharmacy service and goodwill for the last 35 years.
